Usually not the design. A wolf sold for women is not a different animal, and the label on a piece tells you less than the piece itself does.
This one is a wolf's head in profile, turned to the side with the muzzle long and the eye narrowed, and the mane running on below it into long open tribal lines that curl down to a point. It is shaped with depth rather than cut flat, and the recesses are blackened, so the fur and the muzzle keep catching the light as it moves.
