The howl, held at its peak
A wolf howls with its head thrown back and its muzzle tipped up, which lifts the sound clear of the ground and lets it carry for miles across open country. This panel catches the animal at exactly that moment: neck stretched, jaw open, the body cut into broad sweeping shapes rather than fine detail, so the whole silhouette reads from the far side of a room.
Picking a colour for the hour
