This is the thing nobody mentions about multi-panel work. The gaps between panels are not empty; they show the wall, and the wall colour becomes a stripe running through the image.
On a neutral wall that reads as clean separation. On a strong colour it reads as vertical bands of that colour cutting across the two wolves, which may or may not be what you want.
Test it before committing. Hold a sheet of paper against the wall where a gap would fall and see how the colour behaves.
Two to four centimetres is right. Wider and the panels stop reading as one image; uneven and the eye catches on it every time without quite knowing why.
Mark the wall outward from its centre rather than from one end, so the whole arrangement sits balanced whatever the total width turns out to be.
