Polyester holds colour

For a printed cushion it is the right fibre, and the reason is chemistry rather than cost.

Dye bonds into a synthetic fibre rather than sitting on the surface of a natural one. That means a polyester print keeps its depth through repeated washing and years of daylight, where the same image on cotton would go flat considerably sooner.

It also resists creasing, so a cover comes out of the wash looking flat without an iron, and it does not shrink, so it still fits the pad in three years.

Which suits a photographic subject

Detailed wildlife work is the most demanding thing to print. Fur is thousands of fine lines, and it is where a cheap print gives itself away first.

A fibre that holds fine tonal detail is what keeps white fur legible against white snow rather than letting the whole thing turn to grey mush at arm's length.

The design

A second walks through the middle ground in profile, and a third watches from a dip in the snow further back.

45 x 45 cm, 100% polyester, high definition print, machine washable at 30 degrees and quick drying. Sold as a cover only, so the pad is not included.
